I love the idea of students using chrome books just for testing. Where I'm at, we are expected to have students use certain programs for reading and math a certain number of minutes per day/week. I limit it to the minimum number of minutes and pull my friends who need the most support during that time because they tend to get stuck if just left to working on a program. And as a parent, my 4th and 6th graders are required to use their chrome books all day and I don't like it!!!!
Hey Holly, interesting the requirement to use chrome books - I used to see children ‘gaming’ the apps they were using for literacy by clicking around the options until they got the correct answer. Maybe the apps have improved but it always struck me that real learning was unlikely with these programs for the children who needed it most! I like your approach - makes a lot of sense!
